New Jersey State Policemen's Benevolent Association, Bradley Beach Local No. 50, serves the police officers in the Boroughs of Avon-By-The-Sea, Belmar, Bradley Beach, Brielle, Lake Como, Neptune City, Sea Girt, Spring Lake, and Spring Lake Heights.  PBA Local 50 was organized on September 7th, 1928 and officially chartered on May 10th, 1956, and now represents approximately 135 active members from these nine towns along with over 70 retired members.

PBA Local 50 and its members are committed to the betterment of the communities we serve.  We work for the preservation of the high quality of life the residents of our communities come to expect.  This is done by apprehending those who commit criminal acts and reducing or eliminating problems in our communities which effect the quality of life.  Our officers provide police service which is fair, unbias, and respectful of the dignity of all.  Our members serve our communities through all weather or natural disasters, at all times, and are the first responders to fires, accidents, medical emergencies, and crimes in progress.

PBA Local 50 is a labor union.  The PBA represents the members in contract negotiations, grievances, and other matters pertaining to our work environment.  The PBA works closely with the municipal administrators to see that our contracts are complied with and the members have a fair, unbias, and safe workplace.

Our Local also is also committed to serving our communities through charitable works and donations to charitable organizations.

Since PBA 50 is made up of officers from nine towns in the southern shore area of Monmouth County, officers build a great working relationship among each other.  This a great benefit, since our boroughs are small, we often find ourselves working closely with other police departments in our local.
